Hi, had a quick look through the travel agents section but most of the reviews there are for local trips. Can anyone recommend a good travel agent to handle international travel? We are looking for return flights from Ha Noi to Melbourne (Australia) in September. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi! i wanna buy a concert ticket on friday in this week. But now i'm working on countryside, not Hanoi. Does anyone know where one can find times for buses in Hanoi? I am meaning start and end times (I'm not expecting exact times during the day). It seems like several bus routes (32, 49, 34) have suddenly started ending earlier than before. This site is pretty good for information: http://tramoc.com.vn And the bus routes here are great: http://220.127.116.11:8099 But I couldn't find information on last bus times.
Hi I plan on buying a brand new motorbike next week. I've been renting a Future Neo for almost a year and half, and I was thinking I should really buy one instead. I'm not a big fan of waves, I've always loved the first Future, and Future Neo is also a good bike. But now I discover the Yamaha Exciter. It seems better than the neo, mechanically speaking, but also about 5 millions more expensive. I've never tried one, nor see anybody driving one everyday. I'd like to have some feedbacks on ...
I have around 10 days free before leaving the country and would like to travel through Vietnam. Where MUST I go/what MUST I do to have a beautiful experience and enjoy the country? I'm aware of all the usuals like Hoi An, Hue, Danang, Dalat, etc. But would greatly appreciate advice on what to do and places outside of these that will really be their own experience. Also, I'm not a young gap yearer and I'm not a high flying pensioner, so something in between this would be greatly appreci...
I've been here for three years now. Living in my last house for over two years, and now another house in the same street. (Doi Can.) In my last house, 209 Doi Can, any paperwork needed from the local police was free. When I needed a proof of residency form it was free. In the new house, 463 Doi Can, It's costing 500,000 per document. I'm about to 'buy' my third we've 'bought' one and will need another soon for my partner, and we 'bought' one for our daughter a month ago. How much ...
Hi, I used to live in the Tay Ho district, Au co Ward (124 Ngo Au co). Loudspeakers were playing a song, EVERY single morning! This was pretty annoying on saturday (and sometimes on sunday). But since I don't live i Vietnam anymore...I miss it! Would someone be able to recognize the song and tell me the name of it? it might not have change since last year. I have a poor quality recording of it but even Shazam doesn't recognize it... Thx! Nicolas

Does anyone know where to get decent shower gel? I used to use adidas which to me is clearly the best one as the other ones seem to be not very good. Can anyone recommend a good one, know where to buy good ones, or knows where i can still buy adidas shower gel?
I have just moved to a new room. The landlord says the new laws state that the rental agreement can't be in Vietnamese and English. Only Vietnamese. True ? Also I have to go to the police when I leave to say I am changing flats. Otherwise the landlord can't rent the place to a foreigner again. True ? thanks
Hi, I saw a personal ad last month that I was tempted to respond to but didn't because I was in a relationship. Now the relationship is over, but I can't find the ad. It seems they remove them after a few weeks. Does anyone know if there is a archives section or another way to access older classifieds? Thanks.
I know this question has been asked before but all the answers are from 55 months ago or whatever. I'm looking for kickboxing, with a bag or pads. Preferably Hoan Kiem side of the lake, but I'll go anywhere if its a good class/instructor/someone who ACTUALLY knows how to properly hold pads. Also, I've tried VietFighter and that guy is mean. I had to convince him to not put me in the corner, what a waste of energy. I'd also be interested in Martial Arts, etc. anything that involves p...
Hi guys. I am hoping you can help me. I have not yet moved to Hanoi but I am looking to relocate there sometime soon from Ireland. I have however travelled through Hanoi and spent a couple of weeks there, and I also know people that have previously lived there. I have reading some of the posts about police clearance and and work permits and I was hoping you could give me some advice. My problem is this. I have no criminal record, but when my background check comes back it does show that I had...
Hi guys, I'm currently looking for a teaching job beginning in September in Hanoi and came across Language Link's "school's link" programme where they send native teachers into the public schools to teach English. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this programme...good or bad I'd love to hear it Thanks :)
Are there any other non English mother tongue speakers on this site? why is it dominated by Aussies, Brits, Americans, or Vietnamese (the last I can understand...but where are my fellow italiani, French, Spagnoli et al or other Asians?) It seems all questions are answered from the english teacher's point of view...and yet today in my local watering hole, I found Italians, French, Germans, Phillipinos, Indians, Koreans, Japanese and Taiwanese, apart from 3 RMIT lecturers, there were no engl...
