We braved the wet weather last night to arrive in time to claim the first dry seats on the patio. It's a huge space, with the benefit of accessibility from the street, and lots of distance to make you feel like you're far, far away from the traffic. We followed DTTD's suggestion to stick to the menu specials, and loved the fried cheese, we intended to order the lamb, but the waiter walked away after we had ordered the appetizer sausages (which were a whole plate of cocktail wienies on steroids), the fried cheese, the most awesome and HUGE papaya salad with dried beef (Mr. Cliffhangers's idea of a great salad)and some french fries, which were not bad, since they were made from real fried potato and were pretty crispy. Three of us were well fed (with the addition of 4 litres of their lager) for a little over 500,000. The beer was 280,000 of that.

The uber-salty Russian string cheese that they give you to nibble at the start was perfect for driving you to drink...Definitely worth a visit, and next time we'll order the lamb before the waiter cuts us off.

Seven of us went here on a Saturday night for a few drinks and some food. I have to say I was very impressed with this place. It's very big, but has a very welcoming feel to it. It's like I imagine a beer hall in somewhere like Germany to be. Nice solid wooden furniture, the beer vats behind the downstairs bar, and lots of beer type memorabilia on the walls.

The food was really nice, with a good selection of local and international dishes. We ordered 7 or 8 different items and had a bit of everything. The fried cheese is fantastic, although I guess not the healthiest option on the menu. The ribs were good, and the lamb was very tasty. I also enjoyed the squid and other seafood that we ordered.

I can't personally comment on the beer, as it's not something I drink, but they looked to have a good selection of dark and light beers, more along the European style than the English larger beer. My friends certainly seemed to enjoy it anyway.

I decided to order vodka, and this is where my only negative point / warning comes. It was not until they were pouring my vodka that I discovered you have to buy the whole bottle as they do not serve it by the glass. I appreciate this is a beer house, and as it happens I didn't mind buying the bottle, but they should have explained this before opening it.

For the quality of the food and drink and the pretty good service, I think the price is reasonable. With everyone having several beers each and my bottle of vodka, we only ended up paying about 250K VND each, so I guess the guide price per person of 300K might be a little on the high side.

Definitely somewhere worth going with a crowd of friends. I'm sure to return here in the future.

expect a noisy (mot - hai - ba - do!!) and packed place with excellent food, quick and competent waiters... and very tasty beer! Not for a romantic night, but for fun and feeling good. Not 5 stars because nobody's perfect.

Dislike this place... visited it with my Czech friend. This beer should be like a Czech Pilsner, but it tasted terrible! The service was very bad, nobody cared about our orders, so we left to Hai Xom! And next time, if you want to get a Czech beer, come to Goltmelt, it's better!

btw: on their website, they have czech language in choice, but it's Russian! They though that we are fools?

i visited last week ( a hot day) with some friends,and to say about feeling: umh..beer good enough, and can see there are many customer come there, but, with me, the service is very terible.

We have to wait so long for some simple foods. We came when they full seat inside and no choices, we have to seat outside. but, a big surprise, there was only 1 fan at a big garden outside and very far from out table. we drunk with a shirt damp with sweat, and their staff look at, don't care with our situation, bad service!!!
