Sticky rice anyone? This is such a great comfort food, whether for breakfast, lunch or a late night snack, it is easy to eat, satisfying, filling and best of all, cheap. Of all of the xoi (sticky rice) places in this area, I think Xoi Yen is by far the best. You can get the normal white version here with a variety of toppings; or my favorite is xoi xeo, the yellow one that is topped with some yellow mung bean cake that is shaved thin. The name xeo in Vietnamese means something (I am told) about stacking or layering of this bean cake, sort of like a shingled roof. Then you choose your topping(s). Chicken (thit ga), sausage (gio), chopped meat in spicy sauce (pate), whole egg (trung), fried over hard egg (op la) and chunks of slow-cooked pork (thit kho tau). There are others but those are all I know. It can come with a cucumber and chili salad too. Also great to stop by and pick it up to go, reheats well.

Been eating in and take away here for years, they never overcharge you and very quick service, consistent service, my fav is xoi ngo (sticky rice with corn) with chicken and Chinese sausage (lap xuong) "thit lon kho" is good too... the xoi could even be kept in the fridge for the next day and still tastes good !
Since I have huge xoi cravings @ midnight during pregnancy I'm so thankful for this place (its open very late - like 3 am) I just write a post-it note of my order and my husband could pick up from there, they never mess up my order !!

Been frequenting this place for the last 3 or 4 years now and the amazing thing is that the taste has pretty much stayed the same. The consistency of this restaurant is what really makes this place great.
I have been to other Xoi locales that can be better than here, but they aren't nearly as consistent.
My favorite is the Chicken with Corn Xoi. The service is good and they try to rush you through the ordering line if you are ordering for takeaway which to me is better than being forced to wait for a while. If you can't speak Vietnamese the pointing action does work quite effectively.
4 stars for the consistency and taste with and the speed in which they operate.

The Vietnamese equivalent of the late night kebab, or chips and gravy.
The Xoi xeo here is yummy, with chicken, pate and egg.
This is straightforward and awesome midnight post-drinks eating. Service is fast. Price is always quite cheap.
Sit down and eat on the street or take it home. Plenty of on street parking. Never had any problems here at all.
