76 Yen Phu, Tây Hồ, Hanoi
“A restaurant with a strange name in a strange place. "Tivoli Cafe" and yet there is no Italian food. Coffee, I guess? And the Hanoi Club is just odd. Is it a hotel? A country club? Social club? And yet, the food here is actually good and cheap. Seen a foreign chef milling about. Looke...”
Passio is one of the first few places that offer the coffee-to-go concept in Vietnam. They started out in Saigon and probably have about 10 branches now whereas in Hanoi there are just 2 branches.
The Passio branch I’m reviewing is located on the corner of Ly Thuong Kiet and Quan Su. The exterior is painted in bright lime green and will certainly catch your attention if you are nearby. It is convenient to get a coffee to go or call for delivery from here, though during peak hours (like after lunch time) it will take a bit longer.
The coffee here is quite good and of similar quality to Highlands Coffee, though at a considerably cheaper price (most drinks are 30k-40k). I usually order cappuccino and their special Passiopuccino is also quite tasty. They also have paninis but I looked at their ingredients and they did not look good so I decided not to try.
At this Ly Thuong Kiet location there are also tables on the higher floors if you want to sit down. They also sell their branded coffee powder if you want to make Passio coffee at home. Coffee to go is becoming trendy in Hanoi now and although I haven’t really tried many such places, Passio is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to get my coffee fix.
