smokem if ya gottem

I have been renting from here for months, i have absolutely no complaints, the service is there, friendly, helpful and they go out of their way to make sure everything is as it should be, Dan is a great guy, and he really takes good care of his customers,my friend told me that Dan even gave away his own bicycle to a student who had one stolen. That is cool, haven't seen that kind of people for awhile.

I've been in Hanoi for a while now and have my own bike, but a new contract dictated that I had something more reliable and respectable. After browsing the classifieds, I found the bikes on offer were neither suitable or within my price range. I found Rentabike on these pages and decided that they were the ideal solution to my predicament.

I chose a Future Neo, reasonably priced and it had the spec I was looking for. I rang Danny and he said they were indeed a popular bike: he had them but their popularity meant they were all out on long term loan! He suggested I look at the Wave RS which, to all intents and purposes, was the same bike. I checked the spec and yes, six of one, half a dozen etc.... I agreed and he said he would have it serviced, cleaned and delivered the next morning. Super.

The same afternoon, Danny rang me back. He had sourced a Future X and wondered if I'd be interested. Same deal.
I googled it! Perfect, just what I'd been looking for (125cc, disc brake, underseat storage.)

Next morning, his wife handed me the keys. The bike was like new, less than 1000km on the clock, full tank of fuel and free of any accident damage or car park scrapes. I ran it around the block, it pulled well and stopped and started as it should. Deal done.

Obviously, I'm delighted with the bike but this review is for Rentabike. I thought that Danny had offered that little bit more, he had gone out of his way to please the customer and, as a westerner, I value that service. Either Danny or his wife Thu (who speaks great English btw) are only a phonecall away and although I can fix the bike myself, they offer a mechanic/breakdown service should the need ever arise.

Good product, great peace of mind, highly recommended.

We've been renting a bike from here for about 8 months now. We wanted a 110 which they didn't have in stock, but in return for a verbal agreement that we'd rent it for at least 3 months they sourced the bike. The first bike they gave us wasn't quite what we wanted but within about a week they came and exchanged it. Then the gears were a bit stiff to start with but we stopped by their workshop and it was fixed straight away. Now they come and collect the rent every month and take it away for a service when we feel like we need one (in other words when it gets dirty and we assume the oil's low!). We also hired a bike for visitors for a day and Rentabike delivered and collected the bike (for a fee but not much to our visitors from Singapore!) and were on the phone helping out when we got a puncture - they even refunded the money.

It's so straightforward and they do whatever they can to make our life easier.

I rented 2 Alpha Wave 100cc bikes for 1 month, December 2011.
1 bike for me, and 1 bike for my wife.
For just $45 for the full month, it was simply a bargain of the year.
When we arrived at the shop in Yen Thai Street, we were met by Huyen, she was very nice.
We planned to ride from Hanoi to Hai Phong, then to Cat Ba Island on the fast ferry, to eventually arrive at Ha Long Bay.
The 2 Honda bikes were fantastic, and although a year old or so, were still in very good, and more importantly, reliable condition.
We stayed in Ha Long for a few days, and headed back to Hai Phong.
We talked together and decided to head down to Hio An, where the weather would be warmer.
We headed south without delay, but restricting ourselves to riding no more than 4 hours a day, or about 110km.
That was enough, we were in no rush, it did not matter when we arrived, as we had the bikes for the full month.
So eventually at our own steady pace, we went over hai Van Pass, and arrived in Hoi An, some days later.
We had lots of time, so we stayed in Hoi An for more time.
Still the weather was not great, so I asked my wife, shall we head more south?
Yeas she said, lets head fro Nha Trang, the weather will be great there, I am sure it will be sunshine for us on the beach.
Some days later, at our own steady pace we arrived in Nha Trang.
Oh dear, the weather was following us, as I am sure it was the tropical storm that hit Philippines, was now brushing the East coast of Vietmnam.
We were having a great time any way, and being adventurous, Fay said, lets head for Phan Thiet, and Mui Ni, she said the beaches there are very good.
I said, are you sure, yes she said, the bikes are running great.
OK, I said, but first before we leave Nha Trang, we will get the bikes oil checked, and get the chain adjusted, which we did.
Then again, like before, a few days later we arrivd in Phan Thiet, an Mui Ni.
Now the sun was blazing down, every day was super warm, and we were enjoying it very much.
So a few good days there, and I said, we will ride to Sai Gon, and train freight the bikes back to Ha Noi.
This was very easy, and just cost us $28 for each bike.
It took us less than an hour to do the paperwork, and 4 days later, we could collect in Ha Noi.
We got the SE4 train, back from Sai Gon to Ha Noi, and the following day after our arrival, we collected the 2 bikes.
They were very well wrapped in tissue paper and card board, then into wooden box frames, for their trip an the train back from Sai Gon to Ha Noi.
The next day we phoned Huyen, and said to her we will give the bikes back to Rentabike the next day.
Huyen asked what time we would like to arrive at the shop, we said about 11:00h am.
We arrived at the shop at about 10:55h am, and were just taking our helmets off, when Huyen arrived to greet us.
I have to say, that Huyen is a great girl, and looks after us very well.
I forgot to mention at the beginning that as we were unsure of Ha Noi, and would Huyen please take us to the haiway, to depart Ha Noi.
This was no problem for her, we just followed her, and she showed us exactly which road to continue on.
So, this my friends is the end of our trip story, and a great trip it was.
Rentabike's Honda's were faultless, and I would sincerly recommend this company.
Well done to Danny, Thu and most of all to Huyen.
Thank you.

A great shop to rent from. Excellent service and a wide selection of bikes to choose from. Prices were fair. The moment I arrived i could see that the shop knows what it is doing. The Bike was ready to go, and the team was working hard to make sure we had everything we needed to have a good bike.
I will rent again from this shop definitely.
