I popped into Jaffa today as it's close to work and I had quite a lot of stuff to catch up on. I ordered a simple spaghetti bolognese with lemon juice which was served in an impressive matter of minutes. Nothing special but it hit the spot.

If I'm in a similar situation and want a quick bite to eat again, I may come back again. If I had more time on my hands or wanted a bigger meal, I wouldn't come back. My meal was 8 dollars and the portion was really small. You could easily pay $10 for a sandwich and drink in here which, (despite being in Ciputra,) doesn't seem competitive enough to lure me back.

The food was super yum. Sure most of the "beans" on my nachos were chickpeas, the chips were not tortilla and it all seemed to be drenched in a bbq type sauce. But it all worked out in a "I congratulate you on your nacho creativity kind of way."

Serious, major negative points for the worst atmosphere ever. There appeared to be a children's party of some sort going on. Normally I like children, but there were over 50 under 10-year-olds RUNNING around the restaurant SCREAMING at the top of their lungs. In my face. I'm not exaggerating. A child actually stood a foot away from me and screamed. In. My. Face. I realize parents were probably more at fault than the restaurant was, but good lord. I'll think twice before returning.

Staff was polite but inattentive.

We mostly head out here for afterwork drinks.
It's nice for a change of pace and get out of the city for a bit.

Haven't eaten there too many times, but I can say they have good pizzas, great pate, and the nibbles they provide for functions are pretty good too - nice selection.

Good wines available. Some particularly nice ones by the bottle.
Cocktails aren't too shabby either.

Setting is overlooking a pool, with one whole side in glass. There are some nice tables out by the pool too.

Western design inside, lots of space.

I like that it has a few different seating options: bar stools, high tables +stools, normal tables, couches, pool side tables.

Have found it to be warm inside when you want it to be and cool when you need it.

They currently have fresh Czech beer on tap too.

Further to my meat quest after the delicious fillet at the Argentinean abattoir, I ventured to the Meat pies at Jafa. Being of kiwi extraction I ordered 2 of the sheep and pea pies. “Sensational”. Stacked with lamb and veg could have been a bit hotter but I would have eaten it cold I am a hunter gatherer if it moves and it looks like meat eat it if it doesn’t push it to move and then eat it.
Most pies fall down on their pastry but they have got it right. Their pastry does not interfere with the filling achieving a fine balance ( I don’t normally sound like that).
My wife is trying to get me to go to a wine and cheese evening tonight it is devoid of meat I hope she is reading this.

I wish I could write an anonymous review, I'm sure I'll be barred, Eastenders style...
I've been coming here for lunch for a while and loved the mediterranean salad with goat cheese, liked the green and Caesar salads, and the place. So came on Friday night for free drink and decided to stay for dinner. Winter warmer Lentils with sausages conjures up images of toulouse sausage on a steaming bed of warm garlicky lentils. Not lentils with sour sauce topped with the most horrible bits of thing I can't even name. So I swapped with Obliging Husband for his shepherd's pie. This was edible but so disappointing. What place does sweet corn have in a shepherd's pie? To bulk up the tiny amount of meat evidently, or to compensate for the sloppy creamy cheesy tasteless mash.
I found the menu sort of mean, as these are the cheaper items on the menu. I've been wanting to go on thursday for a while for the 2 for 1 offer, as this is about what I can afford and I thought this would mean a genuine bargain. Whereas, the Thursdays I've looked, the blackboard menu at $9.50 has included things like bun cha, normally at about six dollars, rather than the delicious looking things I've seen on other days. And the free wine from a box wouldn't tempt me to return. I know it was free but I judge a place's wine standards on the house wine...
Also, I know that people have children, but cartoon noise on tv was piped all over. This doesn't make great Friday early evenings to chill after a hard week. Couldn't there be a corner with this, maybe toys even, and the rest of the place quiet? Only the tables at the back feel nice in the evenings, the ones by the door near the foyer just seem like a food court. Altogether, there wasn't a nice relaxing place to be. It shows the limitations on one big room, in England we'd have a kid's area and a kid free area, at least later on.
So my star rating reflects what this place sets out to be, to which I don't feel it matches up. I'll still be going for lunch! (in disguise)

The Aussie Burger (sans beetroot!) is actually very good, generous and delicious. With some of the best french fries around.
