I can second that first review as I've used this guy's services as well. he's indeed friendly and fair.

he's the guy with a big metal box full of tools, so I guess he can do a lot more than just pumping up tires.

Having neglected my bicycle under the stairs for too long, i found the back tyre completely flat, the kick stand all wonky and the chain rusty and dry. I'd heard rumours of a really friendly bicycle repair guy somewhere down Ngo Quyen st, and with the impending arrival of a cooler season, i thought it was time to give the bicycle some new life.
I wondered down Ngo Quyen and found him on the corner with Ham Long st in front of some flower sellers. I told him i thought i needed the inner tube changed and he said, i'll check if it needs that or just a patch. Turns out i only needed a patch even though he could have easily just charged me more for a new tube. In the 10 minutes he worked away at my tube, pumped both tyres, fixed the kick stand and oiled my chain (the bicycle equivalent of a full-body massage) he served two others who just needed tyres pumped and gave street directions to 2 other people, obviously a man whose help is in high demand.
The time came to ask how much and i was expecting something like 20k, but it only came to 10k (happy ending indeed). I highly recommend this guy if you need your bicycle tuned or just a bit of air in your tyres, he doesn't talk much (and only in tieng viet i suspect), but offers big smiles and charges fair prices. Best bicycle repair experience ever, the sort of experience that just makes you happy and rids you of that, "everyone is out to get me" mentality.
