This place is appalling. I haven't gone in well over a year and after "dinner" there last night I now remember why. The water never seems to work in the toilets resulting in literal shit build up - and a bucket next to the sink with some lemons just doesn't cut it. The food is surprisingly worse than the toilet situation. 140K for "Thai style beef" aka overly battered unseasoned half crispy fried half sitting in oil beef. We couldn't even touch the food it was so disgusting - the only redeeming factor was the wine which they had absolutely no hand in making. 3 dishes, a bottle of wine, and 850K later I left slightly tipsy with an empty stomach and a new hatred of LeCoop. If I could leave no stars, i would.

I won't be returning to this place anytime soon - the manager needs an attitude adjustment and/or some customer service training.
Such a shame because I really liked the feel of the place- open and rustic and nice.
I think the menu is too big- what's it trying to be? I don't get putting lamb cutlets for 300,000 dong on the same menu as 2 dozen Vietnamese dishes for under 100,000. Just pick your thing and do it well, people!
That aside, the reason for the sole star was the glass of red wine bought to the table, fridge cold and by the waiters own admission, a few days old. Apparently it tasted vinegary and had started to turn.
A complaint was made, the wine returned, the manager consulted. But instead of apologising, the manager stood her ground and asserted that though it may not be to our taste, they had done nothing wrong in serving the wine and she would not be replacing the drink.
So, the wine was undrinkable, but still appeared on the bill.
I know it's only 60,000 dong for the glass, but its the principle.
Note to management...when 5 guests enter your empty restaurant on a weeknight to dine, and a truly legitimate complaint is made about a below-par product you serve us, why don't you try the old "customer is always right" approach?
The problem wasn't the crap wine, the problem was the way you handled it and the shitty, righteous attitude of your manager. Boo.

My first visit to Le Cooperative will surely not be the last. This visit did just enough to entice me back to sample more of what really is a great looking menu.

As for the experience this time, it was a mixed bag. There is no question that the facility is well designed, spacious, diverse and can handle a variety of crowds and situations. The staff are willing but not well trained and a bit vague on the details of their menu.

For me, this time, the food was ordinary. My duck looked the part but was pretty dry and lacking some flavour. And I'm really not sure why it took 45 minutes to get another of the same meals to a dining companion when we ordered at the same time... Upon arrival I asked for tea. Outside it was cold, wet and so forth so it felt like a tea moment. The tea was fine but the milk was off. Which is pretty ordinary for a place like this.

The tiger beer is cold and good. As it should be. Although the jury is out on Tiger Crystal...

The menu is very extensive and does have some interesting dishes that reflect the fusion this place is trying to achieve. The staff are very willing, want to do the right thing, but are clearly lacking something from management. But their hearts are in the right place and that makes all the difference. I will return and, in time, hope to be able to lift the three star rating as well.

We have been going here for some time, but recently the prices have gone up, and the service down. It feels like there's new management here.
Most recently, we ate here and had lots of problems. The food was ordinary, the sinh to was off, and there was 30 minutes between my partner and my dishes. we complained and got an apology from the owner. Ate here again a few nights later to see if it was a once off. Unfortunately it wasn't. The food was fine, but still experienced a 30 minute wait between our dishes, meaning one person was finished before the other started.
The kitchen needs to sort out their timing, and make sure everyone gets their dishes at the same time. Considering the price, this place doesn't feel like good value for money any more.

There's nothing about the outside of Le Cooperative-not it's brick construction, not its large sized once gated entrance way(see picture)--that says "Excellent food and drink within". The area is dominated by the Sofitel Plaza so the restaurant blends in too easily with the shops on the side street, An Duong.

I would have never thought to find memorable Vietnamese cooking in the shadow of the Sofitel Plaza, but for a class reunion I attended at Le Cooperative where I met fellow schoolmates for the very first time.

The fixed menu at 200,000 a head brought a nice variety of seafood, vegetables, some meats and dessert fruit. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Beer was at the ready when you wanted to down another. Despite the somewhat large crowd of diners, service was prompt and it seemed the staff quite ready for larger groups.

The place has three floors and different seating areas, including a floor pillow arrangement and could comfortably handle a group of 10-12 diners.

The principal strength of Le Cooperative was the excellent cooking, spacious size of the eating area and good value for reasonably priced dining.

The evening was memorable, the food great, the beer cold and the laughter of friends--priceless.
