I've tried this once and found it quite tasty. You can definitely taste the stir fried beef. it tastes great w some hot sauce and garlic added. I'm usually squeamish about ordering quay from these kind of places, but it looked ok here so i had some here and it was not bad.
All and all i still prefer the traditional pho bo, but its nice to mix it up from time to time.
also, i'm not sure how to update the address on this thing but it's 15 Lo Duc

Pluses: the flavour of the broth. Yep, a good mark here (notwithstanding my reservation below). The fried beef is an interesting tweak of your standard pho bo, too, even though I definitely prefer sliced cooked beef (chin). I think their prices are quite reasonable (30k a bowl), considering recent across-the-board rises at street restaurants city-wide, as well as the fairly generous helping of beef, and the fact that this is a "famous place".
Minuses: the soup. It's tasty, but it's dirty and cloudy. The cooks here clearly don't subscribe to the golden rule of pho - clear broth. And it's much more greasy than normal pho soup, too, which really doesn't go with the noodles at all. You'll have a film of grease on your lips by the time you've finished your bowl. And whilst I've lauded the flavour of the broth, I have to say it also has a strong gamey taste and smell that is ever so slightly wrong. Disconcerting. The fried beef is kinda chewy, too. I prefer the chin at my favourite pho bo place (I'm never reviewing it!) - it's tender, lovely and reminds me of roast beef. This place does their beef differently, but certainly not better, in my opinion. Oh, and they way overdo it with the spring onion garnish - they pile the stuff high! Too much. And today there were some rotten pieces in my bowl.
Before I level the next criticism, let me make it clear that I eat at these kinds of places all the time, and I'm not a squeamish Pho 24 enthusiast braving the grot of a Regular Joe's pho stall as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am Joe. I eat at places like Pho Thin on a daily basis. And I have to say that this place seems a fair bit more grubby than the norm. Everything has a layer of grease over it of a thickness that you might expect at a bun cha place, but not a pho seller. Furthermore, it is more than slightly malodorous - worryingly so, and the weather's quite cool now. I wonder how bad it gets when things heat up. Again, I'm an enthusiast of these kinds of places, and I know they don't usually smell of Glen 20, but this place is really quite stinky. And there's something about what's served up that doesn't quite sit right. Perhaps it's a combination of the premises plus the dirty soup with the ever-so-slightly off taste, the rotten bits of garnish in the mix, and the pile of greasy meat that just seems dodgy when your bowl's plonked down in front of you. After the first spoonful today, I distinctly remember pondering whether to abandon the rest of the bowl as a precaution, because it just didn't seem *right*. I seldom do that. And I didn't today - I ate the lot. And I'm fine. However, I'm not surprised in the slightest that some people have reported eating here, only to later experience stomach problems.
Okay, this place doesn't serve up your ordinary pho bo - it's worth going here to try out their style. However, I certainly prefer the more traditional varieties over what you get here. Couple this with the fact that, when I eat here, I get worried about the equilibrium of my stomach and intestines...well...all I can say is I won't be rushing back for more.

I’ve been to Pho Thin many times and have had some mixed experiences here. It is a very popular place so I feel like sometimes they don’t have enough time to cook the meat well. The last few times I ate here parts of the beef servings seemed uncooked, even after they have been in the broth for a while. They also chop the beef into small pieces so I am also a bit skeptical about the quality of the meat as well. I actually had stomach problems the last time I ate here. You can tell they have some hygiene issues as nothing looks clean and the one who handles your cash also handles your food.
That said, I have had some really good meals here as well. The concept is unique and it’s a nice change from the usual pho. I have doubts about coming here frequently, but perhaps I will give it another try some time in the near future.
