“Thanks TNH for this useful sources. I run very hard to take a look at so many apartments as I can before leaving Hanoi this weekend. I want to settle ready basic things before I come back next two month for a very busy working contract. Among the apps I saw, Lotus Inn is the prominent. It foll...”
I was gonna enter this spot but Onemore beat me to it. I have to say it is quite an impressive place and I always had fun when I was there.
Ever since New Century was closed down, there hasn’t been a club in Hanoi that left a big impression on me. I wouldn’t hang out here every weekend but if I were to show a visitor the nightlife in Hanoi then this club would definitely be on the list. New Century was an institution in this city and Next Top has the potential to become one as well.
Next Top occupies three basement floors at the Grand Plaza Hotel. The sheer scale of the club is quite overwhelming – they can easily host thousands of people in here. The walls are covered with LED screen, which makes for a pretty psychedelic experience. There is an elevated stage at the back of the club with go-go dancers. There are also models who perform after 11pm. Right below the stage is the pit where there are premium tables that can be quite competitive to book. Then there are the private booths that are categorized into different rows. To enter you’d need to book in advance and the bouncers will ask which booth (or table) you’ve booked before you are allowed to go in. Since this is a 5-star hotel, the club is allowed to open until 2am, which is a bonus point.
Next Top might not be a great club by western standards i.e. there is no dance floor but for a Hanoi club it is by far the best. You might not be able to talk much, but that’s probably not necessary as there is just so much visual entertainment all around. You can look at the models or the go-go dancers or even the LED screens if you are bored. Also, it’s always entertaining to look at other tables and see drunk people do funny stuff. Or you can see 90% of the people in Hanoi who have undergone a plastic surgery here, which in itself is very interesting, to say the least.
First, the place is call Next Stop not Next Top. Second, only spotty local teenagers in metro sexual gear bought from the Night Market hang out here. Way too Asian with the usual boring Johnnie Walker bottle and bowl of fruits. Time Hanoi club scene bloody grew up and get some serious Dj and beevers in.
The go go dancers here are pretty entertaining to watch while the late night "modeling" made me literally LMAO, the gals need to practice walking in high heels a lot more! And whats with the outlandish price? Four of us consumed a bottle of blue lable, water, snacks, and a fruit platter and the bill was 6 million vnd! Glad i checked out this joint, but id much rather enjoy a bottle of moet at Angelina that cost way less...
