Maroon Driftwood has been mentioned on the Maroon reviews section a few times but the new store hasn't been added until now.

When I arrived in Hanoi 18 months ago, I had my sofa made by Maroon at their Hang Bong store. I chose the cheapest (and I really mean cheapest) fabric available and am happy to report that after constant attacks with dairy products and metal cars from a toddler and a sloppy dinner-eating-on-his-lap husband, the sofa still looks fantastic. The service was fast and efficient at the time and I was very happy.

Recently I decided to buy some new furniture including a huge bookshelf and a really cool toddler play table and I really really really couldn't stand the thought of more dark, wooden furniture. I wanted nice, clean-looking WHITE. I dropped into the new store (which in my opinion is much nicer than the original store and gives you a much better idea of their capabilities and style) with my ideas, followed up with an email, and promptly received a design drawing and a home visit to measure up and confirm my requirements.

Van was a little nervous about doing something all white veneer and was honest about it. I liked the honesty and still wanted to go ahead.

I made the silly mistake of ordering just before Tet which meant a rather long and unfortunate delay of my furniture. I got over that as soon as my stuff was delivered: it was SO much better than I had anticipated. The shop did a wonderful job and was very prompt at fixing up a couple of scratches received in the delivery process (the bookshelf is HUGE and incredibly heavy).

Overall a very good experience even with the delayed delivery.

Maroon Driftwood made a large sectional sofa for us in August. The price was more than we expected, but they were recommended to us and seemed professional so we went with them. Initially we were quite disappointed upon delivery and spent a good deal of effort and time trying to get after service. However, once the right person took over the change was immediate. They came to our house 3 different times - to check in person on the problems, to properly attach the sectional sofa pieces and change one cushion, then later to change all the cushions once we'd had time to try their suggestion (low style sofa needed firmer cushion foam than originally supplied). Best of all we actually felt like they cared that we came away satisfied with their product. So 4 stars because it took some work to get the right people on the case, but in the end we are satisfied and are able to endorse their work.

Vietnamese craftspeople have a reputation for being able to produce whatever style you want. But what you don't always expect is such very high quality.

Driftwood has some great pieces in their showroom but they'll also make furniture to meet you specifications. This is not short-term low quality copies - this is long-lasting, top quality, hand crafted one-off pieces.

I really can't praise them highly enough. I would imagine that our relationship with this place will be an on-going one and as we have the funds and the space we'll order more and more. And, if we were to leave Vietnam, then we'd more than likely want to take it all with us.
