Could we get a Made in Vietnam address list going? Their bags list some of the addys, but there are so many opening, I'd like to keep up. Only the real MIVs - not the imitators who sell crap. Once we're done, I'll add it to the list section.
Also, please note the specialty of each entry - some are just for kids, some for men, some for all. Thanks!
Tried a google search for Made in Vietnam shops..... which ended up, obviously, as being an utterly pointless exercise.
Made in Vietnam shops at 58 Bà Triệu, 82 Hàng Điếu, 7A Chả Cá, 20 Hàng Thùng, 56 Quán Thánh, 193 Giảng Võ, 65 Trần Nhân Tông, 266 Tây Sơn, 162 Tôn Đức Thắng, 89 Cầu Giấy, 275 Bạch Mai
The source of the previous list ;)
re: crap - I've stopped at some so-called MIV, but the quality of stuff was horrible and no name brands.
Typically a real MIV will have Banana Republic, Old Navy, Children's Place, Osh Kosh, JCrew, and some others that I know from the US.
Hit or miss as to sizes, but worth it so I don't have to wear multi-colored mu-mu's from the OQ. My daughter is easier for clothes, but still nice to get some cute styles for her at MIV too.
I'm finding all kinds of clothes to buy that are "Made in Vietnam"~~~now that I am stateside!! This has frustrated me since moving to Hanoi. Where are the factories making our western sizes for export and why can't we go on some factory tours & shop there?? Geez...
Which MIV has the Osh Kosh and Children's Place? I've only been into two stores and nothing doing really.
The ones on Son Tay have kids stuff, plus there is one on Cau Go. Also on Phan Dinh Phuong - and one just opened on Ly Nam De, but am not sure if it's a real one or no. Will find out.
Update pinkposh - the two MIVs on Son Tay street are real and have the name brand kids clothes - so is the one on Cau Go. Ly Nam De seems to be a real one.
Danthetaydevil's list of shops belong to Vietbrothers.
See their web: http://www.vietbrothers.vn/?Bcat=1&lg=vn&start=0
Shops in Hang Dieu & Giang Vo streets have name brand kid clothes.
Imitator shops have a copy of Vietbrothers signboard but don't have their logo on the top left corner.
Bobo - 24b Ly Thai To
M2 - Ly Thuong Kiet (opposite Melia hotel)
Key - 43 (or 46) Ngo Quyen (by May Thang Long)
MIV - 62 Hàng Đậu
Trâm - Hàng Đậu ( near by MIV 62)
MIV in 1st floor Hanoi Tower - Hai Ba Trung
MIV in Topcare Plaza - Thai Ha ( by National Cinema)
I've also seen one at the beginning of Thuy Khue, but I pass it too fast to see a number. It only has children clothes.
I'm looking for a MIV that specialises in kids' clothes. This thread has some suggestions, but is over 2 years old. Have also read all the reviews, but again, is quite old info.
The list that Dawnation speaks of above - where can I find this?
Or, can anybody please suggest a MIV store that has a good range of kids' clothes?
So far, I'm thinking Son Tay, Thuy Khue and Cau Go are the stores to try?
Dan Anh shop in Ly Dao Thanh street (near Press Club). They usually have good stuffs, not the crap you often see at the imitators MIV; but too bad the shop is really small and usually full of people.
There are so many shops called " Made in Vietnam" but almost copy the name, the real one is" Made in Vietnam-Viet brothers" so be careful
The best Viet Bros-MIVs for kids on a quick shopping run:
Walk down to the MIV on Cau Go. Next one is straight down the street on the right where Cau Go becomes Hang Thung.
Afterwards, look down to the end of the block (intersection of Hang Thung and Nguyen Huu Huan) and hit the MIV on the corner. When you finish, turn left down Nguyen Huu Huan to find the next MIV. When finished, grab a xe om and hit the 2nd floor of the Ba Trieu MIV store.
Plus, many there are kids' stores all along NHH that are export shops or are dedicated to kiddie clothes from South Korea and Japan.
Across town, there are a couple of MIVs on Son Tay.
*I know, I have no actual street numbers, but just google.
there are actually 2 MIVs on Cau Giay--353 and 337, but the one at 353 is a real/proper Viet Bros. I didn't have time to go in and see what kind of clothes they sell, but it's relatively small so i assume it's probably just standard clothes. There is also one, if i'm not mistaken it's, at 89 Xuan Thuy, but it's also a fake one.
Good luck and good shopping.
