After having initially been introduced to Quan Nem in HCMC, I was thrilled to discover that this place has locations in Hanoi! Quan Nem's specialty is fried crab nem bun cha. The nems are pretty massive (I recommend 2 nem per person), and the crab meat is really fresh and actual pieces of crab, not like shredded mixed spring rolls. The waiters come around with scissors to chop up the bun and nem...and then dig in! I like this restaurant because it has a bit of a local feel to it, a little rough around the edges in terms of conventional standards of modernity (lighting, overall cleanliness, acoustics, etc.) but in no way inhibits my ability to dig into my crispy crab nem!
