Bánh bao chiên

Bánh bao chiên ("fried covering cake") is a fried type of Bánh bao which is an old fashioned Cantonese dim sum called tai pao brought to Vietnam by Cantonese immigrants. In Vietnam, Bánh bao are filled with savoury fillings, the most popular of which is seasoned ground pork and a portion of a hard-boiled egg inside. Quẩy nóng (“hot bread stick”) is often served along in the same shop with Bánh bao chiên.
