The menu prices are in dollars which they converted to dong at the black market rate...nice!

Green Mango is quickly becoming a constant in the ever changing scene in Hanoi. The owner has genuine interest in helping the community and should be applauded for hosting some of the best events in Hanoi. The decor and ambience created in Green Mango is tasteful and food is excellent. Bar service (especially at events) leaves something to be desired but overall a great spot.

My lovely Boyfriend treated me to a meal here on Valentines Night and I couldn't of asked for anything better. The food was exquisite, great atmosphere and good friendly service. The only comments I would make is that we waited quite a while for the food ( but it was very busy and it shows that the food was probably freshly prepared) and it was a bit cold when it came out. Also, im veggi and there wern't loads of options for me but the food i did have was delicious! I recommend the grapes with goats cheese starter, possibly the best starter i've ever eaten!

If you do go check out the picture on the right wall after walking through the bar, classic!!

Love the atmosphere, decor and brilliant fusion menu. This place really is unique in Hanoi, and I never expected to find anywhere like this here. Been wanting to try it out for ages, and unlike so many other restaurants in town, it didn’t disappoint me.

It looks like one of those trendy and seductive places that you’d only normally find in New York, London or Sydney, where all the beautiful people go. However, this place is not pretentious or snobby, and has a really friendly, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere appealing to all sorts of people. The crowd in here on the weekend night we visited was very eclectic, with romantic couples, big groups of friends both expats and locals celebrating something, and even bloke mates out for a catch up. It really does appeal to every demographic, and this gives it a really warm and attractive ambience.

Next the food. Wow! Really interesting menu that when you read through you already know you’re going to have come back, because there are just too many yummy options to choose from. This is fusion at it’s best, offering innovative and appealing dishes that come with an interesting twist. The food is stunningly presented, and really packs a taste punch. The combination of flavours in all our dishes was just gorgeous. We were really delighted with everything that we tried. Portions are surprisingly very generous and we would have loved to have tried more, but we were stuffed. What a refreshing change! Annoyingly often you go to a beautiful restaurant that serves you teeny portions, and you end up needing a bag of chips on the way home!

I really really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but if I’m being objective I’m forced to give it a 4. The only area for improvement is unfortunately the food service, which I found to be a bit lax, and seemed so out of step with all the other brilliant components. Our starters arrived together, but mains did not. Mine arrived, and even having waited a while for my husband’s to arrive and him insisting I just start, I was still half way through my meal before his eventually turned up. We had also ordered a side dish of potatoes to eat with our food, which finally after many requests from us, arrived just as I was finishing my main course. This was a real shame, and slightly took the shine off a beautiful evening. I would put this down to the kitchen rather than the waiting staff, most of whom are generally very friendly and extremely attentive, but others are just not quite on the ball. So as a little constructive criticism there is room for improvement in this area as you don’t want this to detract from all the other wonderful positives that you are achieving!

I've been living in Hanoi for more than 3 years now. I admit it, I love eating; as the Vietnamese director of my school reminds me on a daily basis, "I know you love eating so much because your stomach keeps getting bigger every day!". I come from a place where attention to the small details is sometimes more important than the food itself, so have unwillingly become very particular about the venues I choose to dine at. I like a certain type of decor, background music, service and food presentation. If one of these is dodgy, I have a similar reaction to the one of the rain man when Tom Cruise switches the hot water tap on. In my head, of course.

Anyways, I have fallen in love with this restaurant. I see it as the kind of restaurant I would like to have if I ever had one. The decor is very tasteful, food is excellent, staff is very well trained and prices reasonable. I am a bit ashamed to admit it, but have been to this place so many times that the staff knows me well and I also received a membership card which grants me 10% discount on every bill. I can't help myself; it works out so beautifully for a number of events that it is impossible not to consider it at least once a month when deciding where to dine out. Romantic occasions work as well as business lunches. Big groups are fine as well and no one will be kept waiting for their food.
This place is a true gem and Hanoi would not be the same without it, at least for me.
