This place is awesome.
I have stayed in several different hotels on various visits to Hanoi and this beats all of them.
It might be a dollar or two more than other similar places but it stands out above all the rest and you feel incredibly welcome, safe and looked after.
This is where your friends and family should stay when they come to visit you.

Hanoi: a dark and scary communist Metropolis - where robbers lurk in conical hats, where street gangs of vendors try to mercilessly rip you off, and where policemen solicit bribery on every corner...SCARED?

You shouldn't be of course, but if your family, friends, or self are trepidatious about coming to Hanoi, this is one hotel that seems to go out of their way to ensure guests are safe and comfortable.

And if you're not scared? It's still a nice place to stay - ageing charm (not colonial ageing, mind), mod cons, stylishish appointmets and a pretty reasonable price at 17 bucks. Very professional staff and excellent service.

Breakfast well presented but bland and standard so pop outside for your noodles and coffee.

I'd happily be back.

This hotel provides good and clean rooms, friendly service, good for family ( they have a play area for children- not big, but good enough).I like their professional management style. They have their own boat for Ha long bay, and they print the Rising dragon guide which provides useful information for tourists. I also heard they are doing the Rising Dragon fund for charity.Keep up the good work.

Top notch customer service in the perfect location!: The service was well above expectations - the staff had a genuine concern for our safety, advising us on the best way to get to our destination and alerting us to the risks in Hanoi. There is also a HSBC ATM right outside the front of the hotel, meaning I felt safe when I withdrew cash. The location was ideal – being walking distance from many attractions meant that we could soak up the hustle and bustle of Hanoi.

Mr Trung and his staff went out of their way to ensure we had the best Hanoi experience. The atmosphere was very homely - the staff members are mostly young people, who are keen to sit down and have a chat while you eat breakfast or wait for your taxi, which helped us feel safe and a part of the Rising Dragon 'family'. One staff member went as far as to accompany us to purchase SIM cards for our phones and set them up for us. The day trips we booked through Rising Dragon were excellent and at no stage did we feel pressured to undertake one.

While there is no lift, the mattress was rather firm and the rooms lacked natural light, the staff, service and location made this hotel excellent and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi on a budget, especially if they are first-time visitors, are travelling alone or have personal safety concerns.

The staff here a what makes this a great place to stay so helpful in every way.
We had a small problem with a taxi outside and one of the guys was there in a flash, we were also given a late check out without having to ask.
We had a deluxe room very clean and a good size but with no windows to the outside and could not open the curtain as it backed onto another room and a staircase. there seem to be quite a few permanent residents in the hotel and they seem to have all the rooms with windows so beware of that if you want a view !
Location is perfect and i would defiantly stay here again.
