The park is still there since the last review from 4 years ago. I echo all the things said in the previous reviews. It is very clean and definitely a bit of a hidden gem.

Indira Gandhi Park is situated next to Thanh Cong lake by 16 Lang Ha Street. I went to the park to meet a friend over the weekend and walked around the lake afterwards. It was a very pleasant morning.

Combining it with Thanh Cong lake makes it a good place to meet with someone who is based in Southwest Hanoi. It saves them a long journey to Tay Ho (Where I live) and it is somewhat more relaxing and a good change from the Old Quarter. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around which always helps too.

I will go back again in the future.

I love this place!
It's clean, compared to other public places, and it's a lovely park to go for a pleasure walk and take a laid-back seat.
It's an ideal place for you guys to run/jog/walk, it's large enough and sometimes I walk my ass off there for 10 round around the lake, it's better than going to a gym and work on a treadmill, huh?

I'm so tempted to vote 5 stars for it, but 4 stars is not bad while making it modest.

When I came first time in Vietnam, I was stunned when came to know that there is Some Park Named after our (Indian) Prime Minister. When I went there I was really very Happy and p[roud.

Apart from that the Park or Lake both are awesome. Nice View in the evening time. I used to go for Night walk from 8 PM till about 11:30 PM. Very Safe Location for all and specially for Foreigner. Although there are not many Foreigners seen, but its nice place to spend your time.

I really enjoyed my Daily Walking in the Indira Gandhi Park.

In my opinion this is one of the nicest parks in Hanoi. Though there’s not much open space, there is a beautiful lake (Thanh Cong Lake) surrounded by tall buildings, which gives you a different feel of Hanoi than most other places.

The park is generally pretty clean compared to Thu Le, Thong Nhat Park, or the Botanical Garden. Around the lake there are mostly older folks jogging or going around for a walk and there seems to be fewer dodgy characters or teenagers making out in public.

It’s in an area that’s not extremely popular, but I think that it deserves a mention on the Newhanoian. The photos are taken from the E8 Club flickr website. (
