Yes, there has been a high turnover rate among teachers, but the ones they have hired are committed, professional, and generally well chosen. The school culture nurtures tolerance and openmindedness. My daughter has had a great experience and is sorry that she has to leave at the end of the year.
The school has built a very close-knit community, which students, teachers and parents have become fond of. Nevertheless, it continues to face some pressing issues. They recently extended their Christmas break from 3 weeks to 4 b/c a large number of teachers were traveling for a recruitment fair in Bangkok and the school did not have enough substitute teachers in place. Such large numbers of teacher departures are typically indicative of dissatisfaction w/the school's management. In light of HIS' tumultuous history, this recent event may reflect the fact that the school is still experiencing serious issues.
