Indeed I don't want my kid to study inside an office building amidst noisy busy city center; but the fact that he loves going to school everyday is much more important to me as a mother
Good location, friendly staff.
Universally known as the "McDonald's of education", Uniworld and Kinderworld have expanded their number of campuses throughout Hanoi, Saigon, and other major cities in Vietnam without paying attention to the quality of their staff and facilities. They will hire any foreigner regardless of their qualifications and typically their staff are on short-term contracts of 2-3 months. Consequently, students can go through as many as 5 or 6 different teachers in one term.
Uniworld/Kinderworld first started their operations in Singapore a number of years ago and have had to shut down their Singaporean branch due to low enrollments (driven by poor reputation). They have fared well in Vietnam because there are large numbers of affluent Vietnamese families wishing to enroll their children in "international" schools that have not been able to gain admission to UNIS or HIS.
Hmmm..really can't agree with the previous reviewers: prices are comparable with other international kindies in Hanoi and cheaper than UNIS. And teacher/child ratios are better than in places like Australia!
My daughter attends Kinderworld and loves it. Lots of activites: painting, singing, drawing, learning the alphabet etc etc so she's not being neglected in her 'schooling'. I also make the effort to be in regular contact with her teacher who does a fantastic job with the class so I have a pretty good idea of what goes on.
Look, it's not perfect, but show me a kindie that is.
Only came for a visit here and was completely turned off. The price is extremely high and it's very crowded with kids. We came after lunch and found a crowd of kids watching tv in the dark - maybe 30 or more - a definite no-no for an education center, in my book. I wasn't impressed with the staff member I talked with either - seemed a unfocused and uncertain. Would not recommend and suspect previous reviewer might be right.
