“As a fashion lover, I really want to join in fashion industry and develop my career as a fashion designer and stylist. However I didn’t know how to start. The course at LCFS gives me a board view about fashion, beside design, pattern cutting etc, I also learnt about trend forecasting and busine...”
My first venture into Hanoian Karaoke so nothing to compare it to... But, my friends and I are karaoke fiends and I've karaoked all over Japan so there was a lot to live up to.
The decor is the best thing about this place - the foyer has ridiculous chandeliers and stuff and you can choose from some hilariously themed rooms. We got the Amazon room, lots of green lights and jungle junk, which was pretty funny.
You choose your songs from the book, write down the number and give them to the guy who is waiting just outside the door. He programs them for you and away you go.
Song choice was ok, obviously english songs are going to be limited but we managed to find a few of our favourites and it forced us to try new songs. Sometimes it says Artist Unknown so it can be tricky with songs that have really common names...
We only wanted to drink beer to keep the costs down but for the first 15 minutes they kept bringing us snacks and other food. We politely but firmly said no to all of them and there was no trouble about it when it came to pay the bill.
I have no idea how much other places charge but the total for about 2 hours of karaoke and definitely more than 12 beers between 5 people came to just less than 1 million dong. So it was less than $10 each (compared to Australia this is ridiculously amazing!)
I definitely recommend Bingo as a starting karaoke joint.
The next step in Karaoke... themed rooms. Oh so themed rooms.
The outside of this place brandishing a huge golden angel just gives you a clue to the inside. Floors and floors of themed karaoke rooms, each different.
I looked at almost all of them, favourites being the cowboy room, the prison room, the underwater room and the jungle room. Some work better than others, some rooms appear as if they gave up half way through and realised it was too much work.
If you have been doing Ha Noi karaoke for a while and are just getting bored of the same scene, same songs and same venues - try this place to spice up your karaoke habit. Hilariously kitch. I love it.
