Hanoi, the political capital of Vietnam, is located in the Red River Delta and is also an important cultural centre with many aspiring young artists making the city into one of the most visually appealing places in Vietnam! The city is an eclectic mixture of colonial Parisian grandeur and time...

Having been to a few other of this chain, this Pho Bien is on par with the others.

It's large, with a massive common dining area and a number of smaller VIP rooms that can host a wedding party of an intimate group of six, depending upon your needs.

The food is actually pretty good, I think. Recently a group of four of us went and we ordered a special Saturday night deal. VND600k banquet for four people, as in VND150k each. Great value with six banquet options and options within options. We had loads of food, all quite tasty and well presented. We drank loads of Bia Hanoi and had a great evening. Staff were attentive but not hovering and all the food came, traditionally, at once.

It was a fun night and yes, there were some rowdy tables but the place is so big it wasn't a problem. Pho Bien is an established part of the growing My Dinh cuisine scene, making it ever more pleasant to live out this way.

It's pretty hard to go wrong with Pho Bien and this location is no exception. Definitely worth a go.

This is pretty much what you would expect from a Vietnamese seafood restaurant catering to the new middle class of Vietnam.

The restaurant is large and was built with the function of serving large parties of Vietnamese.

I wouldn't go there if you don't have at least 6 diners. The prices, from what I can tell (I didn't pay), are on par with other places of the same mold, running around 200,000 a person for a hotpot and appetizers.

I myself went there as part of an extremely large group (50+). My school took all of its teachers, admin staff and their significant others here for teachers day.

While the fair was decidingly average, and the drinks consisted of bia Hanoi, Hanoi vodka, Coca and La vie, it did prove to be great example of dining out Vietnamese style.

I would highly recommend going here (or at one of their other locations) if you are new to the country and want an authentic, modern, Vietnamese experience. The shrimp, and other sea critters, come with the heads attached, and the female employees wear Ao Dais.

You will almost certainly be the only foreigners there, and the male patrons (usually stereotypical businessmen and government officials) will be overindulging themselves on shots of crappy vodka, getting progressively louder until they stumble out of the place and speed away on their Honda SH's.

Go there once for the cultural adventure and then never return.
